About Us

Scheffler Custom Woodworking, Inc. was started in 1993 by Jerry Scheffler Jr. as general construction. In 1994, Matthew Scheffler joined Jerry as a partner and the team began to introduce custom counter tops, custom cabinets, and custom millwork. 

Our showroom located in historic Dixon, Illinois, was originally built in the 1800's as a railroad depot. We purchased the unique building in 1996 to warehouse our supplies and fabricate our custom products. In 2001, The Freighthouse Kitchen & Bath Store showroom was opened, showcasing unique products for your kitchen and bath. Today, we still provide exceptional custom designs and offer the latest in kitchen and bath details in our showroom.

Founded Scheffler Custom Woodworking, Inc. in 1993. Born and raised in Dixon, Il, Jerry graduated from Dixon High School 1989. In 1993, Jerry earned a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology- Construction and is the current President of Scheffler Custom Woodworking, Inc.

Matthew Scheffler
Owner

Matthew joined his brother Jerry at Scheffler Custom Woodworking, Inc. He was born and raised in Dixon, Il, graduating from Dixon High School in 1990. Matthew earned his Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology- Manufacturing in 1994 and is the current Vice President of Scheffler Custom Woodworking, Inc.
